The cybersecurity skills gap is a major problem in the industry. There are many jobs that go unfilled because there aren’t enough qualified people to fill them. This is a major problem because the demand for cybersecurity professionals is expected to grow by 20% over the next five years.

An apprenticeship program like this can help narrow the skills gap and solve it altogether if it is done right.

In the cybersecurity field, there is a shortage of qualified professionals. The demand for cybersecurity experts is growing rapidly and this trend will continue in the coming years.

Information security analysts are expected to grow by 27% by 2022. The demand for cyber security professionals is expected to grow as the digital world continues to expand. Cybersecurity skills continue to be in high demand with the increase of cyberattacks and data breaches that have been occurring globally.

The reason why so many companies are looking for cyber security experts is because of the increased frequency of high-profile data breaches. In 2016 alone, there were over 1 billion records compromised in 2,000 breaches. There is a data breach just about every day today.

Conclusion

Apprenticeships has been a method of learning to become professionals before the modern focus on science. It was common in the 1800s and early 1900s for novices to learn to become professional through apprenticeships. The apprenticeship model is coming back to the forefront with the modern issues of finding the right qualified talent.

Today’s modern cybersecurity apprenticeships is a response to the cybersecurity skills gap that exist in the world today. Employers are struggling to find talent and students are struggling to find cybersecurity jobs that don’t require at least five years of experience.
